Biography

Born in Scotland, I moved to Elgin, Texas when I was 11 years old.  Elgin is where I discovered my talent and passion for percussion, and after high school I attended Texas State University for my Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education in 2006.    After graduating TSU in 2011 I taught in Burleson ISD for 4 years at both the middle school and high school level.  2017-2018 will be my 2nd year teaching in Jourdanton, and I am very excited for what we have planned for this school year!

6th/7th Grade Percussion Practice Logs

Percussion students in 6th and 7th grade will be required to practice a set amount of minutes each week.  Practice Logs are turned in every Thursday.

Below is the grading rubric for each grade:

6th Grade

60 min = 100%    55 min = 90%    50 min = 80%    45 min = 70%

7th Grade

90 min = 100%    80 min = 90%    70 min = 80%    60 min = 70%

If a student fails to turn in their practice log, or if they do not meet the minimum requirement for a passing grade, Mr. Sharp will make a parent phone call to discuss how we can resolve this issue in the future.  Failing grades are up to Mr. Sharp's discretion.
